Just an interesting cultural event I discovered on YouTube. What do you think? It would be pretty cool if Athens had an event like this.

Welcome to our 151 course blog! We will be using this blog frequently throughout the quarter (in and out of class) for assignments, journals, general communication, and recording our collective knowledge. It is my hope that we will learn more about our course content, technology, ourselves, and each other through this course element. Primarily, we will use the blog as a learning tool, but don't forget it's also an avenue for exploration and fun. Creativity is encouraged.

We have found the primary cause of global warming...
This was really cool but where do they all end up?
seeing all these light balloons or candle kites as they were called in the 19th century in new york makes me wonder one thing...where is the fire department to take care of the collateral damage for when these candles fall back to earth.
pretty.. seems dangerous.
Very interesting and gorgeous. I would like to know the point in the lanterns though. Is it religious?
I'm surprised the Fire Marshall had nothing to say about this.
I thought that the idea looked pretty cool. Watching all the lanterns rise was beautiful, a very unique festival.
The tai lantern festival was very intriguing to me. I wish i could've been there in person to see it!
I thought that the video was really cool. It looks like something fun to do but it kinda looks like it could be dangerous. What happens when the candles fall back down?
That was interesting but where do they go? Thailand would be a cool place to visit.
The Thai Lantern Festival was really different, I have never seen anything like it before. It would have been cool to be there.
This festival seems like it would be amazing to experience. All of the lanterns floating into the sky was really cool. I think that if Athens celebrated this festival, it would join the whole campus together as one.
Pretty cool event.... Unless you end up on fire instead of the balloon.
This would be interesting to watch, but I don't understand what happened to the latern's after.
Well I must say, these people seem really excited about small hot air balloons! I doubt any of them have ever been in a real hot air balloon. It's really not that exciting, in fact the only time I remember hot air balloons being exciting was when I was 8 and Alvin and the Chipmunks had used them in there movie to fly around the world so that they may deliver dolls to third world crime lords. Woo!
and i thought i was the one who liked to light things on fire...
The lanterns' festival was very beautiful and dazzling.
